The State Banking Commission reappointed Mr. Larry R. Chavis, President and CEO of Lumbee Guaranty Bank to the Board of the State Banking Commission.  Mr. Chavis is a graduate of University of North Carolina in Pembroke, North Carolina (UNCP).  Mr. Chavis received a BS degree in Accounting.  He is a graduate of Campbell University receiving his MBA degree. He attended Wisconsin University and received a degree in Bank Controllership. 

Mr. Chavis is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America, Duke Heart Center, Southeastern Region Medical Center Foundation Board, Thomas Family Center and UNCP Foundation & Endowment Board.

Mr. Chavis has received several awards including Business Man of the Year 1992, Silver Beaver Award from Boy Scouts 1999 and UNCP-Distinguished Alumni Award.

Mr. Chavis was in the US Army and served as a POW Interrogator.  Mr. Chavis is a member of the Reedy Branch Baptist Church and serves as Treasurer and Deacon. He is married to Loleta Hunt Chavis and they have two children Melissa and Alex.

 

NOTICE OF EXPIRATION OF THE TEMPORARY FULL FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR NONINTEREST-BEARING TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS
